About

Yeji Son is an incoming Ph.D. student in Educational Technology at the College of Education, University of Florida, beginning in Fall 2027. She completed her master's degree in Educational Technology in Seoul, South Korea.

She is interested in how generative AI, collaborative learning, and team dynamics intersect, particularly in how AI-powered tools can be thoughtfully designed to scaffold learners working together through problem-solving. She analyzes the communication and interaction patterns that emerge between learners and AI in those moments, drawing on both quantitative and qualitative approaches to build a more nuanced understanding of how learning unfolds in context.

Outside of research, Yeji enjoys spending time with her dog Mayo, who is sadly staying behind in Korea, and watching variety shows. She also enjoys traveling, especially to coastal destinations where she can relax by the ocean.
