The VIABLE Lab is delighted to welcome Yeji Son, who will join the Educational Technology Ph.D. program at the University of Florida's College of Education in Fall 2026.

Meet Yeji

Yeji completed her master's degree in Educational Technology in Seoul, South Korea. Her research explores the intersection of generative AI, collaborative learning, and team dynamics, with particular attention to how AI-powered tools can thoughtfully scaffold learners as they work together through problem-solving.

Using both quantitative and qualitative approaches, Yeji studies the communication and interaction patterns that emerge between learners and AI. Her work aims to build a more nuanced understanding of how learning unfolds in context and how human-centered AI tools can better support collaboration.

Outside of research, Yeji enjoys spending time with her dog, Mayo, watching variety shows, and traveling - especially to coastal destinations. We are excited to welcome her perspective, curiosity, and experience to the VIABLE Lab community.

Welcome to VIABLE Lab, Yeji!
