VIABLE Lab Welcomes Two New PhD Students for Fall 2025
Two promising PhD students, Zhongtian Huang and Natalia S. Martín, will join the VIABLE Lab in Fall 2025, under the supervision of Dr. Anthony Botelho, bringing expertise in AI, language acquisition, and educational data mining.

The VIABLE Lab is excited to announce that two outstanding PhD students will be joining our research team in Fall 2025!
Meet Our Incoming Members
We look forward to welcoming Zhongtian Huang and Natalia S. Martín to the Educational Technology program at the University of Florida's College of Education. They will be working under the supervision of Dr. Anthony Botelho.
- Zhongtian Huang comes with a strong background in Applied Mathematics and research experience from the Penn Center for Learning Analytics. His interests lie in machine learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), predictive AI, and human-LLM interaction within educational contexts.
- Natalia S. Martín brings expertise in language acquisition and teaching from her background in ESL and Spanish. Her research focuses on gamified educational technology, student motivation, technology-driven language teaching methodologies, and life-long learning.
Expanding Our Research
The addition of Zhongtian and Natalia will significantly enhance our lab's capabilities in AI in education, educational data mining, language learning technologies, and student motivation. We are eager for them to contribute their unique perspectives and skills to our ongoing projects and future research endeavors.
